This book offers an analytical and critical history of Western philosophy. The first volume, published in 2012, is dedicated to Greek and Roman philosophy. Many existing Persian books on the history of Western philosophy—whether translated or originally authored—suffer from two major shortcomings: they are often overly complex and lack a critical perspective. The aim of this work was, first, to present the history of Western philosophy in clear and accessible language, and second, to go beyond mere narration by engaging in critique and analysis where appropriate.
This book has been adopted as a textbook on the history of Western philosophy by various academic and seminary institutions. The second volume, which focuses on medieval philosophy, is currently in preparation.
